Join Rachna Tewari, an Ayurvedic health counsellor and yoga teacher, for a workshop on yoga nidra & candle gazing meditation. We will begin the class with simple postures, followed by deep relaxation (yoga nidra) and a ghee candle gazing meditation (trataka). Yoga nidra is a technique of guided relaxation that rests us at all levels of being. Following relaxation, we will do a sitting traditional ghee candle gazing meditation called ‘Trataka’. This guided relaxation and meditation helps minimize tension & stress, manage psychological disorders & psychosomatic diseases, and helps train the mind.
The price includes takeaway Farmtrue’s organic ghee meditation candle.
Rachna is a certified Ayurvedic health counsellor and yoga teacher living in south eastern Connecticut. Her holistic journey began at the Bihar School of Yoga, in India, at the age of fifteen when her father, her first guru, enrolled her for a yoga camp. This experience ignited a special love for yoga and its sister science Ayurveda, leading Rachna into a lifelong journey to understand not only the foundations of these sciences but also their essential preventative and curative role in the promotion of good health.
She has completed much training in Ayurveda and yoga in the US and India. For Rachna, traveling back to India frequently to spend time with master yoga teachers from various traditions and Ayurvedic vaidya’s, is an important component of her growth as a yoga teacher and Ayurvedic professional. She is currently pursuing an advanced study of Sanskrit and the classical Ayurvedic text Astanga Hrdayam. Rachna’s classes are centered around a holistic blend of asana (posture), pranayama (breath work), dhyana (meditation) and yoga nidra (relaxation). She is excited to share this transformative and empowering practice to develop inner peace with you. Namaste.
